Meet Mars, a playful, adventurous little girl who has somehow managed to become best friends with a creature several times her size while remaining slightly suspicious of the humans who come to visit.

Yes, we're talking about dogs.

While some kittens take one look at a dog and immediately decide they'd rather be literally anywhere else, Mars has taken a completely different approach.

She's decided they're excellent playmates.

In fact, Mars has become so comfortable with the dog in her foster home that the two actually chase each other around for fun! Apparently, nobody told her that cats and dogs aren't supposed to be best friends, and honestly, we're not about to ruin that for her.

But here's where things get funny.

Despite being confident enough to play chase with a dog, Mars can still be a little skittish when meeting new people.

A giant canine roommate? No problem.

An unfamiliar human who wants to say hello? Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Mars just likes to take her time deciding who deserves access to her inner circle. Once she's comfortable, though, her sweet personality really begins to shine.

And while this girl absolutely LOVES to play, she's also discovered that snuggling is a pretty wonderful way to spend her time.

She's the perfect combination of energetic little adventurer and affectionate cuddle buddy. One minute she's racing around the house, and the next she's ready to settle down and soak up some love.
