Bertha is a gorgeous torbie (tortoiseshell-tabby) girl with striking green eyes, a unique coat, and a personality as colorful as her markings.

Bertha has been through a lot in her life. She was abandoned in a carrier that was far too small for her, and because of that experience, she can be fearful of confinement and may become defensive when it's time to go into a carrier. What Bertha needs most is a patient, understanding person who will give her the time and space to feel safe.

Once she's comfortable, Bertha enjoys attention, pets, and spending time with her people—but like many cats with a little tortitude, she likes things on her terms. She can become overstimulated and may give gentle "love nips" when she's had enough affection, so she would do best with someone who understands feline body language and respects her boundaries.

Because of this, Bertha is seeking an adult home or one with older, cat-savvy children. Homes with young children are not a good fit.
