Beacon - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Bayonne, New Jersey

Meet Beacon, a little tuxedo boy with a tender heart and a much brighter future ahead of him.

Before Beacon knew the comfort of a foster home, he was a scared kitten crying underneath parked cars. A concerned neighbor heard him and tried to help, but he was too frightened to let anyone get close. He would run onto private property, then return beneath the cars and cry again. We can’t know exactly what happened, but it seemed as though he had become separated from his family and didn’t know where to go.

For three days, we tried to bring this little boy to safety. Finally, three of us worked together to corner him and catch him. He didn’t understand it just yet, but that moment was the beginning of a whole new life.

Since settling into his foster home, Beacon has started to let his guard down—and the sweet kitten underneath all that fear is shining through. Now that he has comfort, care, and the chance to feel secure, he’s learning that people can be kind and that he doesn’t have to face the world alone.

We would love to find Beacon a family who will cherish him through every stage of growing up: the little kitten discoveries, the silly moments, and the quiet days spent together. He deserves someone who will give him time to settle in, celebrate his growing confidence, and love him long after he’s traded his kitten paws for grown-up ones.

Beacon’s right eye is cloudy, and we’re getting him veterinary care to determine the cause and whether he has vision in that eye. His other eye is clear and fully functional, so he can see well. We’ll share what we learn with his future family. He will be neutered and vaccinated when he reaches 4 pounds.

His story began with someone hearing his cries. We hope the next chapter begins with someone looking at his little face and saying, “That’s my boy.”
