Moxie - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Aylett, Virginia

Moxie is the mama to Clover and Sprout. She is aged at 1 to 1 1/2 yrs old.
She had a rough start with us. She came to the local shelter as a stray and by the next morning she had had her babies. The day after that she was whisked away to her foster home. All of this put a lot of stress on her and she lost weight and quit eating. She was diagnosed with a gastric ulcer. She was placed on medication and a week later her anemia was still getting worse. Hoping she also had a blood born pathogen, she was placed on antibiotics for 4 weeks. During this time, she still continued to care for her babies like the good mama she is. She improved and thankfully at the end of the 4 weeks, she had gained weight and her bloodwork was normal again.
Understandably, in the beginning she was protective of her babies, but when they were older, she became a sweet kitty who craves human attention. She loves being held and her quiet motor runs when she is.
She is still protective of her babies around my cats, but should do fine when they are adopted out.
