DESCRIPTION

Email adopt@newleashrescue.org to request a cat application, or pick one up at the store.

Charlie is 9 months old and looking for his forever home. He was born in a shed after his mom wandered up to a good samaritan's farm.

He has never been alone and has always had siblings and other cats around him. He gets scared around dogs.

He can be shy at first but warms up pretty quickly in a quiet environment. He likes to play with toys.

Charlie needs to have a home without dogs or young kids under 8. He needs to go to a home with another cat.

As part of our adoption process, we will check the vetting history of any past or current pets looking for regular history of annual exams and up to date vaccines and other care as recommended by the doctors. We will also check property ownership or verify landlord guidelines for a rental and complete a public records check for anyone over age 18 in the home.

Resident cats must show a history of a negative FeLV (feline leukemia test) on file while maintaining an indoor only status.

Charlie is neutered, microchipped, up to date on core vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested, and also has had fecal testing completed.

Adoption fee: $282 cash, includes sales tax

Our volunteers do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
