Madeline, affectionately known as Madi, is the kind of cat who knows exactly what she wants: lots of love, plenty of attention, and probably a few treats along the way.

Madeline came to Emerald City Pet Rescue when her previous owner was no longer able to care for her due to medical reasons. Now, this sweet tortoiseshell is ready for a new chapter and a family who will appreciate just how affectionate she is.

Madeline loves people and has a wonderfully social personality. She'll come right up to say hello, rub against your legs, ask for pets, and give you sweet head bumps. And when we say head bumps, we mean she isn't afraid to get right up in your face for one! She also enjoys being held and is generally easy to handle. Nail trims make her a little wiggly, but she is not aggressive.

She has a cute, chirpy little voice that she uses when she wants attention, making it pretty easy to know when Madi has something to say. She is also highly motivated by treats and is a big fan of Temptations, although we're willing to bet she'd happily accept just about any snack you offer.

Madeline has lived with at least two other cats and should do well with calm feline companions. Her history with dogs is unknown, but a calm, respectful dog may be a possibility with slow and appropriate introductions.

Madeline is mildly overweight, so her new family should keep an eye on her portions and make sure treats are given in moderation. She has also experienced some constipation in the past, which has improved significantly since arriving at ECPR and settling into her routine. She is currently receiving HydraCare for hydration and Laxatone as needed, but these may not be needed long term. She has some mild dental tartar and will benefit from continued dental care as well.

Most importantly, Madeline is a cat who loves her people. She doesn't need to be convinced that you're her friend. Give her some affection, a few treats, and a little attention, and she's more than happy to come over and make herself comfortable.
