Cole - Domestic Medium Hair Cat for Adoption in Minot, North Dakota

Cole was found to be wandering, Sept 2025, on the 900 block of 38th St SE looking for interaction from humans who did not know him. It was reported that he was looking for resources for approximately two weeks in the area. With the help or social media, some networking, and some fine people in our community, Cole was rescued and brought to Animal Empowerment League. In honor of his rescuers, we have named him 'Cole'. Cole is very clearly, and was, a house cat. He is social with people right from the get go. He had the scent of a home on him. He knows people have food and can feed him. He knows how to survive as just that, an indoor house cat. For a cat that has not ever grown up on the streets, finding food doesn't always come so easily. Cole came to us underweight right in line with what a cat would likely lose in 2 weeks without proper diet supplied for him. He also came in with battle wounds from running into other cats with much better street smarts around. Thankfully, Cole begged and pleaded enough with locals that they shared about him which helped him find his way into rescue. As his rescuers arrived, Cole was playing with children in their front yard as if he belonged. We'd like to think that, in some way, he did. Cole found growth in a foster home for 9 months where he learned about RV life, outdoor time on a harness, and his fav indoor activities. He loves to play and comes when you call him. He rides in the car quietly and lays on your feet. He loves to be where you are. He is much more gentle with female counterparts than male. He has also presented with appropriate interactions around children who are respectful about his space. He loves to lay in front of the TV, under rugs, watch you wash the dishes, and play on his tower. He doesn't meow very often, he mostly "koos". His favorite toys are springs, strings, and a large box with holes cut out. He does have a tendency to get a little too wound up and needs a "calm down corner" to regulate before he plays again. He rarely claws furniture and if he wants your attention he will lightly paw at you. Cole is a miracle kitty and nearly died until he received a life-saving blood donation for transfusion. He recuperated well and is here now waiting for his forever home. 2. An AEL representative will contact you to schedule a phone call or adoption counsel session.
3. Come to your adoption counsel session to meet the pet you're interested in and ready to take them home with you (dependent on the pet, some need more than one meet)
4. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!
