There is something special about watching a cat come into her own, and that is exactly what has happened with me. I am Miss Sammy, and the August update on my life is a good one: I have blossomed. The people who love me will tell you the whole story boils down to one simple truth, which is that I am just a wonderful kitty. I love other friendly cats and kittens and do well sharing space with calm, cat-savvy dogs. A large, bouncy, boundary-ignoring dog is not something I want to go through again, but a gentle one who understands how to coexist? Totally fine. With people I can be a little reserved at first, but once I am comfortable I know my name, I come when called, and I make my affection known in all my favorite ways. I am not a strict lap cat, though I have been known to make exceptions on occasion. What I prefer is to press up against you on the couch or the bed, close but on my terms. Ear scratches are something I love deeply. A slow belly rub is a privilege I extend for a few minutes to people I trust, but I do appreciate it when someone knows when to stop. Please do not pick me up. I will allow it briefly, but it is genuinely not my preference. Toys, though? Bring them all. Interactive toys get me going like nothing else, and my little bird chirp plush ball gets rabbit kicked and then snuggled on a daily basis. A good brushing session is the fastest way to my heart. I am a wonderful kitty, and I am looking for someone who will love me exactly as I am.
