Rescue story
After 3 agonizing days of calling all the authorities in Puerto Rico, the last 2 kittens were rescued from a tall skinny tree branch! There was a playpen, food, plates and even a scratcher. Wendy was found with her brothers abandoned in a remote area that is monitored by a caretaker. The playpen was torn by a dog or other animal and the kittens afraid climbed a tall tree. Over 60 feet tall.

After the 1st day 2 kittens where rescue, the 2nd day another rescued but it was 3rd day, of rescue efforts, we got no where with the police, nor the fire department and local Emergency management office had a truck with a very short ladder. ACO is inexistent in Puerto Rico. So our rescue keep looking out side the box, looking at any solution until something others might think of absurds, we thought we have to try that. We called a local coconut groove harvester. He came to our aid. In Puerto Rico is called Tumba Coco and they climbed the tree with minimal equipment. The videos of the rescue lets you fearing for the climbers, but almost when he caught the last kitten, the kitten jumped and another tumbacoco named Orvil caught him before he hit the ground. This rescue is one for years to be told. And one that I will never forget.
