Sasha is Male (neutered) and approx. 10 months old (as of 9/1/26). We think he'll stay on the smaller side as he's kind of small for his age.
This cute, fuzzy little scamp is a bundle of energy. He showed up at his foster family’s home as yet another random stray. He was taken to a feral cat spay/neuter clinic with the idea that after neutering he would continue his feral life and be on his way (also know as TNR: Trap/Neuter/Release). Except he never moved onward, choosing instead to stick around and making efforts at communicating and forging a relationship that would eventually evolve into LOTS of petting and belly rubs. After a short time working with him, he became quite friendly and in fact, turned into a total lap cat. Clearly this was his intended destiny, and not the solitary, lonely alley cat life.
He took to the litterbox immediately, no accidents at all. Sasha would do best as an “only” cat; he has an alpha personality and, despite being half their size, tries to boss around the other cats in his foster home which has caused friction. He’s not been around dogs so not sure how he would react, although we suspect he’d try to boss them around too...
The clipped ear these TNR cats are given (to indicate they’ve been altered) gives him a rakish, pirate look. Rest assured; the only danger is to random bugs and his mouse toys but only when he’s not busy napping upside down in your arms.
We don’t know how long he was outdoors before we brought him in. We suspect since birth because he is struggling to adapt to indoor life. Because his adjustment is taking much longer than usual (about 6-8 weeks for your average street cat) in addition to being very energetic, he needs a larger home, with lots of nooks and crannies to explore to keep him mentally occupied. He would be very bored and frustrated in smaller, confined spaces. And because he is struggling to adapt to indoor, confined life in addition to having a very strong prey drive (woe to any bug that crosses his path...) he would actually make a great barn cat if you’re looking a for a buddy to keep you company outdoors AND handle vermin control.
