Oddity - Domestic Medium Hair Cat for Adoption in Denver, Colorado

Meet Oddity, a super special girl who's only around 2 years old, and has been through so much- she is a miracle kitty!

Here is her touching story:
Oddity was first brought to us by a couple who found her at a local park, where she meowed at them repeatedly and they found that she was friendly, and she followed them around and all the way home. They quickly discovered something wasn't right- she refused to eat anything for 2 days, and was seemingly getting sick. They carried her into RMFR in their arms and asked for us to help her. That day we took her in, we noticed her skin was turning yellow- jaundice. This signifies liver malfunction and also happens when the cat hasn't eaten in some time, meaning she probably hadn't eaten some number of days prior to even being found at the park.

After running tests, our team arrived at hepatic lipidosis with pancreatitis, although the initial cause/triggering factor for these conditions was unclear. She may have consumed something outside that was poisonous to her and resulted in her inability to continue to eat normally. Unfortunately, the condition was something that takes time to heal.

Oddity was knocking on death's door for weeks. She was very sick, and had to be fed every couple hours via a stomach tube in order to get the nutrients she needed, as well as hospitalized with IV fluids and given a number of medications. Our medical team worked day and night to care for her and nurse her back to health. RMFR crowdfunded some of the expenses of her care, and we were eventually able to stabilize her!

After three months since her arrival at RMFR, she is finally all healthy again. Oddity is finally ready to find her furr-ever home!

She is a very affectionate, bold, and outgoing cat. She is quite social and will approach anyone for pets. While members of our medical team took turns "fostering" her some nights to care for her, she spent time cuddling with us in bed, playing with the family dog and cat, and enjoying attention from young kids who showered her with love. She is a quirky, spunky little girl with a little "diva" side, who is bound to offer you endless hours of affection and companionship.

She would likely prefer a home where she is the only pet, but has gotten along well with some other cats (and dogs!) previously, and could probably tolerate living with them or even befriend them with a proper introduction.

Oddity is a real princess, through and through.
