Perry Mason and Paul Drake - Domestic Medium Hair Cat for Adoption in Beaufort, South Carolina

Perry Mason and Paul Drake....The Case of the 2 litter survivors
A story of rescue, resilience, and an extraordinary bond.
When one couldn't see, the other showed him the way........

Their Rescue

A kindhearted neighbor saw a momma cat with 2 tiny kittens in her neighborhood. Then one day the kittens were found alone. Momma was no where to be found and they were clearly too young to be without care.

When she scooped them up, she discovered that both boys had severely infected eyes. She contacted the Humane Association of the Lowcountry, HAL, and Perry Mason and Paul Drake went right into a foster home.

Their Medical Journey

When the boys arrived, neither could see at all. They received intensive medical care and lots of love.

Perry Mason's right eye could not be saved. Because he was so small, he had to wait 3 months to grow big enough and healthy enough for enuvleation surgery which took place last week. He is healing nicely.

Paul Drake did not need either eye removed. His eye responded to intensive treatment, and he has some vision in both eyes, though his veterinarian describes it as seeing the world through "frosted glass."

Their Personalities

Both boys are affectionate, playful, and people friendly.

Perry Mason loves all toys, people, and other cats. He has a special evening routine of lap time while his foster family watches TV, where he purrs and makes biscuits.

Paul Drake is a little more energetic and has learned the layout of his foster room. he can zoom around, including through the cat flap to his window box for bird watching and keeping an eye on the neighborhood! Both boys love lap time and their favorite TV show---HOCKEY!!! They sometimes play separately but check on each other often, and Paul still takes comfort in having Perry close by.

Both boys are fully vaccinated and neutered.

Perry Mason: right eye removed and is healing well, perfect vision in his left eye.

Paul Drake: vision in both eyes, sees the world through " frosted glass."
