Meet Darlene Bowl Cut! After spending three years living in an outdoor cat colony, Darlene is ready to find a safe place to call home as a working cat. She has shown that she can be a good neighbor to other cats and is comfortable seeking out attention on her own terms. Darlene appreciates having her personal space and prefers to decide when interactions happen, making her best suited for an outdoor lifestyle with a safe shelter, daily food and water, and a caretaker who will respect her independence. With her experience living outdoors and her ability to coexist with other cats, Darlene could be a wonderful addition to a barn, stable, warehouse, or other appropriate outdoor setting. Give this independent girl a safe place to land, and let her do her thing!

***Working Cat Program***

The Maryland SPCA is helping cats who aren't suited for a traditional home environment. The purpose of this program is to offer a safe home and a more comfortable life to cats that wouldn't otherwise thrive in our adoption program. As a Working Cat, the adoption fee will be waived.

These cats can provide a valuable service by keeping rodents away; the all-natural way!

The Domestic Medium Hair cat is a versatile and beloved breed known for its medium length coat that comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. These affectionate and playful cats are often found in shelters, as they are not a recognized breed but rather a classification for cats of mixed ancestry. Despite their mixed heritage, Domestic Medium Hairs possess unique personalities and make wonderful companions for families and individuals looking for a loving feline companion.

Every animal deserves to be treated with compassion and care
