Jasper is a cat with a lot of outdoor experience who is looking for a safe, appropriate working-cat environment where he can enjoy the outdoor lifestyle he knows. His previous owners reports that he regularly spent time outside and was comfortable being outdoors for much of the day. Jasper will need to be placed with specific outdoor-only requirements to help keep him safe and successful, including access to a secure shelter where he can retreat from the weather and a consistent source of food, water, and care. He will also benefit from a regular flow of positive human interaction as he can be quite affectionate when he is comfortable. Jasper is looking for an environment that understands the unique needs of working cats and can provide a safe, stable outdoor area where he can thrive.

***Working Cat Program***

The Maryland SPCA is helping cats who aren't suited for a traditional home environment. The purpose of this program is to offer a safe home and a more comfortable life to cats that wouldn't otherwise thrive in our adoption program. As a Working Cat, the adoption fee will be waived.

The Domestic Medium Hair cat is a versatile and beloved breed known for its medium length coat that comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. These affectionate and playful cats are often found in shelters, as they are not a recognized breed but rather a classification for cats of mixed ancestry. Despite their mixed heritage, Domestic Medium Hairs possess unique personalities and make wonderful companions for families and individuals looking for a loving feline companion.
