Mabel is the kind of cat who will happily be your roommate, your morning alarm clock, and your evening entertainment - all while looking absolutely gorgeous. At 11 years old, this Mabel is friendly, laid-back, independent, and happiest when she knows her people are nearby. She’s also quite the conversationalist! Mabel has a chatty side and isn’t shy about letting you know what she wants. In the morning, she may even wake you up with a loud meow right on your head - usually because she has decided that breakfast should happen immediately. Mabel loves her playtime, especially chasing a wand toy. She also gets the zoomies every night, always ready for fun and games. This girl likes to roam and explore, and she needs the freedom to wander around the house day and night, choosing different spots and rooms to sleep in. She may sleep on the bedroom floor, at the end of the bed, or wherever she decides looks particularly cozy that evening! During the day, Mabel will spend plenty of time snoozing, but she prefers to do it in a room where her people are. She really enjoys having company and doesn’t do well being left alone for long periods. She’s looking for a home where someone is around and where she can have regular attention and company. Mabel is a companion cat who likes to be close, but not necessarily on top of you. She’ll happily sit beside you and keep you company, and while she’ll tolerate being picked up, she’d much rather have all four paws on the ground. She likes having her own space, while still knowing her people are around. Mabel also does best with timed meals and portion control. Mabel enjoys her food a little too enthusiastically, so leaving unlimited food out isn’t a good idea because she will eat it all at once. We aren’t sure how Mabel is with other cats, so she can go alone to a home where she has people around for companionship throughout the day.

Mabel was surrendered to animal services after her family decided they no longer wanted her. No senior cat should ever have to live out their lives in a kennel, so we were happy to take her in.
