Potter is a gentle, thoughtful kitten with a soft heart and a sweet, sensitive nature. He may be a little reserved when meeting new people, preferring to take his time and observe from a cozy spot, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side quickly shines through. He loves being held close, happily melts into long, gentle pets, and enjoys lounging on a cat tree while keeping an eye on the world around him. Wand toys are his favorite way to play, and his love for canned food and Churu treats is the quickest path to earning his trust—and his purrs.
Potter’s journey is one of incredible luck and second chances. He and his siblings, Hermione and Harry, were originally trapped as part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, where community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, and then returned to the area where they were found. At only 8 weeks old, Potter, Hermione, and Harry were scheduled to be returned to life on the streets immediately after their surgeries.
But fate had other plans. During their short stay at the clinic, the three kittens captured the heart of a volunteer who knew they deserved more than a life struggling to survive outdoors. Just before they were set to be released, The Dancing Cat was able to step in and save them. Instead of being returned to the streets, Potter and his siblings were given the opportunity to experience safety, love, and the chance to find forever homes.
You may notice that Potter has a tipped ear. An ear tip is the universal sign that a cat has been through a TNR program. For Potter, it serves as a reminder of just how close he came to being returned outside. His ear was tipped during surgery because everyone expected he would be released back to the streets. At the time, no one had stepped forward for him, Hermione, or Harry, and their future seemed destined to be life on the streets.
Thankfully, before that could happen, The Dancing Cat was able to intervene and give all three kittens the second chance they deserved. Today, Potter is safe, loved, and learning that people can be kind. Now he’s looking for a forever family to continue the happy ending that almost never happened. â¤ï ̧ Potter would love to be adopted with one of his siblings or go to a home with other young kittens.
Part of adopting a kitten is recognizing that they are babies, and you will get to see firsthand how their wonderful natures develop!
Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens under 5 months old must be adopted with a buddy or into a house where there's a kitten-friendly pet.
This kitten is currently in a foster home. To meet this kitten, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. www.thedancingcat.org/adopt
