DOONE est une magnifique chatte aux grands yeux verts-dorés inquiets ainsi qu'au long pelage noir aux accents couleur "fumée" (smoke) et une majestueuse queue en panache qui lui donne une allure royale ! La belle DOONE a eu 14 ans le 2 mai 2026, est dégriffée aux 4 pattes et est en bonne santé malgré quelques douleurs aux pattes arrière; nous soupçonnons un peu d'arthrose, ce qui est fréquent chez les chats dégriffés. Son abondante fourrure aura aussi besoin d'un brossage en profondeur ou idéalement d'un toilettage pour qu'elle retrouve sa splendeur.

La pauvre est déboussolée et son moral est à son plus bas depuis qu'elle a été abandonnée au refuge à la mi-juillet. DOONE a vécu toute sa vie dans son ancienne famille mais dans les dernières années, avec l'arrivée d'un enfant, cela a complètement changé la dynamique dans le foyer. Malheureusement, cette douce féline était bousculée et brusquée par l'enfant trop enthousiaste avec le résultat que DOONE traumatisée, ne voulait plus sortir de sa cachette. Pour son bien-être, la famille a pris la décision - très déchirante - de nous la confier.

Selon son ancienne famille, l'aimable minette est plutôt calme mais avait encore des moments enjoués Chatte exclusivement d'intérieur, DOONE aimait bien s'installer près d'une fenêtre pour regarder la nature et adorait se prélasser dans un petit lit douillet pour faire de longues siestes. La beauté poilue avait une relation affective profonde avec la dame du foyer et dormait collée sur elle la nuit. Au refuge, quoiqu'encore plutôt nerveuse et timide aux premières approches, une fois qu'elle vous fait confiance, DOONE devient affectueuse et apprécie énormément les tendres caresses. DOONE n'est toutefois pas encore assez à l'aise pour qu'on la prenne dans nos bras. Comme elle a vécu de grands bouleversements dans sa vie, nous la gardons dans une cage (elle serait trop craintive pour être mise dans la salle commune avec les autres chats attendant leur adoption). La chérie a besoin de se sentir en sécurité et reçoit temporairement une médication pour réduire son anxiété. Elle passe beaucoup de temps à dormir mais on a remarqué que récemment, elle commence à interagir de plus en plus avec les employés et bénévoles et cherche à obtenir de marques d'affection. Le visage de la mignonne s'illumine dès qu'on lui offre des délicieuses gâteries; DOONE les dévore avec grand plaisir et c'est aussi une excellente façon d'établir un contact positif avec elle :)

Nous recherchons des adoptants patients, empathiques, doux et bienveillants qui dorloterons cette belle cocotte à profusion ! Avec sa nature très sensible, DOONE sera heureuse dans un endroit paisible et serein. Nous recommandons une demeure sans enfants et sans autres animaux pour assurer son bien-être - elle n'a jamais côtoyer d'autres chats auparavant. Cette petite perle va pouvoir s'épanouir comme seule compagne à 4 pattes de la maisonnée en autant qu'elle n'est pas laissée seule de longues périodes.

Female, Senior, Sterilized, Dewormed, Vaccinated, Microchipped & Declawed

DOONE is a stunning cat with large worried greengold eyes, a long black coat with beautiful smokey accents, and a majestic plumelike tail that gives her a regal appearance. Lovely DOONE turned 14 years old on May 2, 2026. She is declawed on all four paws and in good health, though she does experience some discomfort in her hind legs; we suspect a bit of arthritis, which is common in declawed cats. Her abundant fur will also need a deep brushing or ideally a grooming session so she can regain her full splendor.

This poor girl is disoriented and her spirits are at their lowest since she was abandoned at the shelter in mid-July. DOONE lived her entire life with her former family, but in recent years, with the arrival of a child, the household dynamic changed completely. Sadly, this gentle feline was pushed around and handled roughly by the overly enthusiastic child, and the result was heartbreaking: a traumatized DOONE who no longer wanted to leave her hiding spot. For her wellbeing, the family made the very painful decision to entrust her to us.

According to her former family, this sweet girl is rather calm but still had playful moments An exclusively indoor cat, DOONE loved settling near a window to watch nature and adored curling up in a cozy little bed for long naps. This fluffy beauty had a deep emotional bond with the woman of the household and slept snuggled against her at night. At the shelter, although still nervous and timid at first approach, once she trusts you, DOONE becomes affectionate and greatly enjoys gentle petting. She is not yet comfortable being picked up. Because she has gone through major upheavals, we are keeping her in a cage for now (she would be far too fearful to be placed in the common room with the other cats awaiting adoption). This sweetheart needs to feel safe and is temporarily receiving medication to help reduce her anxiety. She spends much of her time sleeping, but weve noticed that recently she has begun interacting more and more with staff and volunteers, seeking affection. Her little face lights up the moment she is offered delicious treats; DOONE devours them with great pleasure, and its also an excellent way to establish a positive connection with her :)
We are looking for patient, empathetic, gentle, and caring adopters who will spoil this lovely darling endlessly! With her very sensitive nature, DOONE will be happiest in a peaceful and serene environment. We recommend a home without children and without other animals to ensure her wellbeing — she has never lived with other cats before. This precious gem will be able to flourish as the only fourlegged companion in the household, as long as she is not left alone for long periods.
