Meet Mushroom!

Mushroom is a handsome 4-year-old neutered male Domestic Longhair with beautiful brown tabby-and-white markings and a heart that takes a little time to reveal itself.

Mushroom was originally adopted from another rescue as a kitten and spent the next several years happily in a home. Unfortunately, his family fell on hard times and made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender Mushroom and his two housemates back to rescue.

Mushroom is an extremely shy and sensitive boy who feels most comfortable when things are calm and quiet. He prefers to come out and explore, play, and show off his personality when the house has settled down. But once Mushroom gets to know you and feels safe, you’ll discover that he is a very cuddly and playful companion.

He does well with other cats and doesn’t mind having feline friends around. However, Mushroom is not a fan of dogs, so a dog-free home is a must. Because he is easily frightened by noise and commotion, Mushroom would also do best in a quiet, adult-only home without young children.

Mushroom may not be the cat who runs up to greet you on day one, but for the person willing to give him patience, time, and a safe environment, he has so much love to give.
