Courtesy Post on behalf of a fellow rescuer:
Ringo was found “left behind” when his people moved out of a trailer park in Woodbridge. This handsome fellow is estimated to be 2 or 3 years old. Inexplicably, he is an American Ringtail Cat, which is a registered breed. No way to know how he got that gene.
He is people friendly (hasn’t been evaluated for dogs or kids) but seems to prefer a quiet environment — not aggressive around other cats but also not quick to bond. Sometimes he seeks out a solitary place to just be alone.
He likes (and needs) to be brushed, but often runs out of patience and will softly nip to show his displeasure so not a good choice for a home with young children. He enjoys watching the great outdoors from the window sills and has adapted well to indoor life. He will sleep on your bed but not jump into your lap. He's been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and he is negative for FIV and FeLV.
He's been in foster care for two weeks and his foster mom continues to smooth over the rough edges left from his past life. He needs a quiet, patient, cat savvy person to encourage his capacity for affection and discourage his occasional impatience as he continues to settle in. Meet him in Woodbridge, VA.
