DESCRIPTION
Meet Dinkers! Dinkers is an approximately five-year-old long-haired Calico female. She has quite the story and we are very relieved to have her safe at Chi Town Rescue. Dinkers is looking for a patient and secure home environment that will let Dinkers be Dinkers (ie, kinda sassy)! Dinkers' former owner has had her since she was a kitten. Although it's clear that she loved her, her owner struggles with addiction issues and has been homeless/in and out of jail. Through a long story, we became involved with Dinkers while her owner was trying to get back on her feet and housed her for about six months before returning her to her owner. Unfortunately, this wasn't Dinkers' happy ending. She ended up back out on the streets and at one point lost. Her former owner asked us to help again, and we were very relieved when someone found Dinkers in their backyard, after months of searching for her. Dinkers has lost some weight but has a good appetite and will be back in shape in no time. It's understandable, given Dinkers' past, that she doesn't warm up to people so quick. She takes some time to get to know you and likes some volunteers better than others. Her former owner said she has always been sassy like that (it must be the Calico in her!). Dinkers' favorite spots at rescue are in the windowsill, or in a cubby. She is mostly indifferent to the other cats in the room, but isn't terribly fond of the new kitten who is always in her business. ;-) Dinkers loves tasty treats and they help her warm up to new people. She has the cutest little "meow" and if you're lucky, she will say hello to you! If you are an experienced cat owner who enjoys a feisty Calico, come meet Dinkers!
