Mama Daisy - Calico Cat for Adoption in Palatine, Illinois

Just look at this sweet gal and what a beautiful calico coat she wears! Mama Daisy is one sweetheart who loves to be held & sure loves fleece blankets to cuddle & nap! Daisy watches for the volunteers to finish their duties and knows it's time for cuddles so she will probably be first in line for her special cuddle-time and hugs.

Most calico cats are female and are often thought to bring good luck in many cultures. Japanese sailors once kept calico cats as their "ship's cats" to protect them while at sea. We're not sure Mama Daisy can bring good luck to you or protection while your ship is at sea but we're quite positive Daisy can bring you warm cuddles & loving purrs!

The Calico cat is known for its unique tri color coat pattern of white, orange, and black. These cats are almost always female due to their genetics, with their striking coats often displaying a patchwork appearance. Calicos are not a specific breed but rather a color pattern found in various breeds, including American Shorthair and Persian. They are typically lively, affectionate, and confident felines, making them popular and charming companions in many households.
