Rigatoni - Calico Cat for Adoption in Murray, Kentucky

Meet our gorgeous Rigatoni!

Rigatoni and her 3 litter mates were born in our care. Their precious mommy, Callie, was found as a pregnant stray. Her finder reached out to us and we were able to take her into our adoption program.

Rigatoni and her litter mates were born a few weeks later and have been so much fun to watch grow and learn from day one! Rigatoni is fostered with a family that has children, an amazing dog, and other cats and she loves playing with them all! She also loves playing with her siblings, toys, on the multiple cat towers and in the tunnels that are in her foster home.

Rigatoni is approximately 11 weeks old with her birthday being, 4/25/26. She weighed almost 3 pounds, July 9th.

The adoption fee for Rigatoni is $100. All cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, vaccinated with FVRCP vaccinations and rabies if 4 months or older, dewormed, given vet-approved flea prevention, spayed/neutered if older than 4-5 months and microchipped.

We strive to do all that we can to make sure that we are adopting a healthy and happy kitty into a new home. In addition, all of our cats and kittens are fostered in either a private home or office setting so that volunteers can socialize the kitties, develop good litter box habits and get to know their personalities to make as best a match as possible with an adoptive home!

Cat Adoption Guidelines:

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. Send your application in directly at www.ForThePets.org. You can email us with any questions at humanesociety@murray-ky.net.

This is not a first come process; we try to match the cat or kitten with a home that will be a Forever Home. We are a small group of volunteers that have full-time jobs outside of our volunteer time for the humane society. The time to process an application can vary depending on the availability of the Cat Adoption Team, the information provided on the application (whether it is completely filled out) and the number of applicants for that pet. We try to process them as quickly as possible.

All of our cats are indoor cats only unless otherwise specified. We also do not allow declawing of the cat.

We do not fly or ship our cats due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the cat back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.

We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport. If you apply to adopt a cat and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the cat and fill out the paperwork in person.

We can't provide individual meet and greet sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have plenty of time for your family and pets to visit with the potential new family member before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.

The Calico cat is known for its unique tri color coat pattern of white, orange, and black. These cats are almost always female due to their genetics, with their striking coats often displaying a patchwork appearance. Calicos are not a specific breed but rather a color pattern found in various breeds, including American Shorthair and Persian. They are typically lively, affectionate, and confident felines, making them popular and charming companions in many households.
