Lulu - Calico Cat for Adoption in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Lulu was a stray mother cat that had kittens when she was rescued at Easter time. She did a wonderful job of raising her babies and they all got adopted. Lulu was tested for feline leukemia FIV and heartworm, and she had her vaccines and got spayed and microchipped.

When it was time for Lulu to get adopted, we noticed that she had started to chew at the skin on her front leg, so we took her to the vet for antibiotics and steroids. She had to change foster homes and since then there have been frequent Veterinary visits trying to get to the bottom of the issue with the skin chewing. We did a biopsy to confirm that she doesn't have cancer and she's currently on a higher dose of steroids than she had previously received, hoping that it will stop the itchiness so she will stop chewing at the skin long enough for it to heal.

While we don't want her to leave the foster home until the skin issue is under control, we thought it would be a good idea to advertise her for adoption now so the potential candidates for adoption can learn about Lulu and meet her after they fill out the application and get approved.
