Our cats and kittens are allowed to be adopted anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island.
Estimated to be just 1 year old, Ophelia has already lived through more than any cat ever should.
She was one of dozens of young purebred British and Scottish cats rescued from a horrific breeding situations, where the cats spent their lives producing litter after litter with very little human love or care. Although we had already closed our intake due to being over capacity, we knew that saving even one life would make a difference. Ophelia became one of the lucky ones.
Today, shes finally learning what it means to simply be a cat.
Safe in her foster home in Forest Hills, Queens, this beautiful British Straight girl has slowly discovered that people can be kind. Day by day, she has blossomed into an incredibly gentle, affectionate companion. She has done wonderfully with her foster moms two male cats, showing nothing but sweet, respectful manners and never a hint of aggression.
There is one thing Ophelia does that melts—and breaks—our hearts every single day.
She carries a little toy mouse around the house as if it were her own kitten. She gently places it beside her, chirps softly to it, and curls around it as though shes protecting it. She never knew toys before coming into rescue, so watching her treasure this tiny mouse is both beautiful and heartbreaking.
Its impossible not to wonder if shes grieving the kittens she was never allowed to keep, or simply expressing instincts she was never given the chance to experience in a safe, loving home. Whatever the reason, its a quiet reminder of everything she has been through.
Now its Ophelias turn to be the one who is cared for.
She is approximately 1 year old, spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative. Due to the starvation she went through before she came to our rescue, she has a sensitive stomach and requires a good quality diet . Shes looking for a calm patient, loving family that will give her the life every cat deserves—a cozy bed, gentle hands, plenty of toys, and the security of knowing shell never again be valued only for what she can produce.
If you are looking for a quiet, loving companion with the sweetest soul, Ophelia may be the missing piece of your family.
Could you be the happy ending shes been waiting for?
