British Shorthair and Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Jurupa Valley, California

Meet Ms. Peabody! Ms. Peabody came from a feral colony in Manila but was trapped so young, she was able to be socialized and is now available for adoption. Ms. Peabody is being crate-trained and has been living in a foster home with four adult cats and a large dog. She is getting very comfortable and also uses the litter box exclusively. She is a very proper young lady! Ms. Peabody appears to be quiet and reserved until you get her fired up with a toy- then she bounces around like a little bunny! She especially loves feathered toys. She isn’t very vocal and her purr is very quiet and muffled but she makes exquisite biscuits, especially when snuggling on your lap. She has only been around one 8 year old child but did just fine being carried around by her. Ms. Peabody may need a quieter home that will give her the time and space to blossom into her full potential. She is looking for her furever home where she will be cherished and kept safe as an indoor-only kitty. Do you want to meet Ms. Peabody? She would love to meet you!

Peabody (named for a famous British book character) has many features in common with a purebred British Shorthair. So does her littermate who was adopted earlier. She has a round face, stocky body, and a placid demeanor, plus the standard excessive eye watering of the breed. British Shorthairs need daily kitty eye-wipes. Peabody is a little shy. British Shorthairs tend to like affection but do not actively seek it out, love pets but not being picked up, and are very loyal to their human caretakers.

She will be spayed 4/20, be deflead and dewormed, get her first kitten shot, be microchipped and tested for FeLV/FIV.
