There are so many cats that are stray, lost, or (sadly) thrown away by their owners and left on the streets to fend for themselves, trying to find food and a warm, dry place to sleep. Janine Wagner, of Janine The Bean Rescue, is a one-woman savior to these cats!

She goes out every morning at 4 am, 365 days a year, in rain, snow, and sleet in the Beechwood section of Rochester, NY to provide shelter and feed at 18 different locations, totaling nearly 100 cats. Plus, she TNR's (traps, neuters, and returns) many of them to prevent overpopulation -- some of those cats that she traps, she tries to foster and get them adopted into forever homes and off the streets.

The American Shorthair cat breed is known for its versatility, adaptability, and affectionate nature. With a medium to large build, rounded ears, and expressive eyes, American Shorthairs come in a wide variety of coat colors and patterns. Recognized for their playful and sociable demeanor, they make excellent companions for individuals and families alike.
