THIS IS WHAT RESPONSIBLE RESCUE LOOKS LIKE.
Ms. Kitty was found outside after apparently being left behind. Thankfully, a caring neighbor noticed her and brought her to us before something terrible happened.
We later learned that Ms. Kitty had originally been adopted through another rescue. We tried to contact them about her, but we have been unable to get anyone to answer or even discuss taking responsibility for one of their former cats.
Im not sharing this to start drama. Im sharing it because an adoption should never mean a rescues responsibility is over forever.
At DLB Cat Rescue, our cats always have a safety net. If an adoption doesnt work out—whether its tomorrow, next year, or years down the road—we want to be contacted. We will not shame the adopter. We will not avoid the phone call. And we will never knowingly leave one of our cats outside with nowhere to go.
Circumstances change. People face illness, financial hardship, housing problems, and family emergencies. We understand that. But the cat should never be the one left paying the price.
Ms. Kitty deserved better than being abandoned and forgotten. She is safe now, and we will make sure she receives the care, security, and second chance she deserves.
We dont ghost our cats. Once they are part of the DLB family, they always have a way back home.
Please share Ms. Kittys story. Her next chapter starts here.
