Sari & Tavi
The tiny sisters who were thrown away... but refused to stop holding on to each other
They were just months old — still babysoft, still learning how to be kittens — when a car pulled into the colony parking lot. A carrier door opened. Two confused babies were shooed out into a world they had never seen before. No food. No shelter. No familiar scents. No mercy.
And then the car drove away.
Just like that.
Two little girls left to figure out survival in a place where even adult cats struggle.
Volunteers arrived moments later. The carrier was still warm. The fear was still fresh. But the kittens were already gone — swallowed by a maze of sheds, brush, machinery, and danger.
What followed was hours of searching.
Hours of calling softly into shadows.
Hours of hoping they hadn’t run into traffic, or predators, or the wrong corner of the colony.
Every rustle made hearts jump.
Every silence hurt.
Because babies don’t know how to hide for safety — they hide because they’re terrified.
And then, finally, a miracle:
Two tiny shapes pressed together in the roof of a shed, trembling so hard their little bodies shook the boards beneath them. Sari, the buff girl, curled around her sister like she was trying to shield her from the world. Tavi, the tabby, pressed her face into Sari’s fur like she was trying to disappear.
They were cold.
They were exhausted.
They were heartbreakingly quiet.
But they were alive.
Because they had each other.
Sari is the softer one — gentle, warm, the kind of kitten who melts the moment she realizes she’s safe. Tavi is her brave little shadow, the one who kept watch, the one who made sure her sister never faced that terrifying night alone.
They survived abandonment, fear, and hours of danger by clinging to the only thing they had left: each other.
Now they’re ready for the part of their story where someone finally chooses them — not to discard, not to walk away from, but to love.
Sari and Tavi need a home that keeps them together.
A home that understands what they’ve been through.
A home that will never, ever open a carrier and walk away again.
