Ziggy has been living outside his caretakers home. He showed up one day looking for food and it's clear he was somebody's pet at some time and for whatever reason he lost his home.
He had to survive on the street and make his way amongst the colony of feral cats. We brought him in to get him neutered and vaccinated and we kept him in a crate while we looked for a home for him. But he was very distressed in the crate.
We decided the best thing would be to return him to his caregiver to be taken care of outside with the rest of the cats that he now made friends with.
But he tries to get inside the caregiver's house all the time. This boy knew what it was like to be inside a home and he wanted back in! Unfortunately the caregiver can't take him in but she has lots of shelters and a safe place for him for now.
When her family hangs out in the yard, he greets everybody and comes for snuggles. They even had a barbecue and he was the life of the party. Everyone adored him.
But Ziggy has a tendency to play rough. He gets overstimulated and grabs on. He doesn't mean this out of aggression. He just doesn't understand that he is sharp!
We seen this before with cats that probably were taken from their litter too young and didn't learn from their siblings how to play nicely.
So Ziggy would need a very experienced compassionate owner who reads his signals and teaches him good manners. He would be okay as an indoor outdoor cat as he would stick around!
We would love to get Ziggy the home he craves!
