Meet Raj — A Gentle Boy Finding His Confidence

Raj is a gentle, sensitive boy who finds confidence through his kitty friends. He loves watching what the other cats are doing and often follows their lead, especially when it comes to playing and exploring. Raj is naturally quiet and reserved, and he’ll do best with someone who understands that trust can take a little time. Before an unfortunate encounter with some very yucky-tasting medicine made him understandably suspicious of his foster mom, Raj would come over for back scratches and happily roll onto his back when he was comfortable. The great news is that those glimpses of his old self are already starting to return—he still comes out comfortably around his foster dad and has begun venturing out around his foster mom again, too.

Raj isn’t a kitty who will necessarily walk into a new home and immediately demand attention. He’s the kind of cat whose trust you get to earn—and that makes every little milestone with him feel special. A calm home, a patient adopter, and especially a confident feline friend would give Raj the opportunity to continue building his confidence and show off the sweet, playful personality we know is in there. For someone who loves helping a more sensitive cat realize that he’s safe and loved, Raj could be an incredibly rewarding companion.

Ideal Home: While he has not had the opportunity to be around dogs or children in his foster home, he has shown us just how much he enjoys the company of other cats! He loves having feline friends to play, explore, nap, and socialize with, and would do best in a home with at least one friendly cat companion. Because we haven’t seen how he interacts with dogs or children, we can’t confidently say how he would respond, but a patient introduction and time to adjust would be important in any new environment.

Raj is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.
