Buddy the Quaker Parrot - Quaker Parakeet Bird for Adoption in Neenah, Wisconsin

Buddy was surrendered to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 8/12/26 because his owner, who had cared for him for 16 years, could no longer provide the care he needed.


There are a couple of important requirements for Buddy’s future family. Quaker Parrots, also called Monk Parakeets, are an NR 40 prohibited species in Wisconsin. Anyone adopting Buddy within Wisconsin must obtain the appropriate Wisconsin DNR permit before taking possession of him.

We also want to make sure Buddy and his future family are truly a good match. Anyone interested in bringing him home must complete three separate appointments to meet Buddy before placement.

Parrots are intelligent, social animals and a major long-term commitment. After spending 16 years with one person, Buddy deserves a thoughtful transition into his next chapter.
