Policies
Our mission is to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens, improve the well-being of all cats and to promote responsible pet care in the St. John Valley (SJV) communities.
Interested adopters come to shelter to meet the kitten/cat they have seen/read about on our Petfinder page. It can be difficult to know if a kitten/cat would be a good fit for you and your household only by viewing a photo, so we strongly encourage everyone to come visit PAWS during our Open Hours to meet the kittens/cats.
Our trained volunteers can help you chose the right cat for your household. They typically know the background stories of the cats and have spend countless of hours with them, so they can help you find a purr-fect match!
Our public Open Hours are Saturdays 11 a.m.- 1 :00 p.m. and Tuesdays 1-3:00 p.m. or by appointment if necessary. If you do find your forever furry friend you will need to fill out an adoption form (including references), which will be reviewed by our board.
Upon review, you will receive a phone call back letting you know whether or not your application has been approved.
Once approved, you can make arrangements to pick up your cat/kitten! :)
