Meet Captain Roger Van Piggles!
Small in size, very big on personality.
This 2-year-old Holland Lop boy arrived to us via transfer from another shelter and has clearly reported for duty with opinions. The Captain is charming, spirited, and not afraid to thump to make his thoughts known-consider it his official form of communication.
Captain Van Piggles is not a fan of being handled and prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground. He's looking for a spacious setup and patient, gentle humans who understand that rabbits don't enjoy being picked up-and that trust is earned, not commanded.
With time, respect, and room to roam, this distinguished little officer will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a rabbit with boundaries, confidence, and a very important name.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
