Meet Chico, your future tiny best friend with a big personality!
Chico is a 1.5-year-old, 11-pound toy Yorkshire Terrier who may be small, but his love and charm are larger than life. This sweet boy was surrendered through no fault of his own; his previous owners were facing health challenges and wanted Chico to have the happy, love-filled life he deserves. He is more than ready to give that love right back.
Chico is a true gentleman and does not jump on furniture. He is crate trained, loves people of all ages, and gets along well with other dogs. He also rides calmly in the car and is cooperative during baths. Chico especially enjoys treats and is very food motivated.
He enjoys his daily walks and continues to improve his leash skills each day. Chico is currently working on house training. He uses pee pads and is going outside, and with consistency and patience, he is expected to master it soon. He is eager to please and thrives on praise and positive reinforcement.
Chico loves stuffed toys, balls, treats of any kind, and soaking up attention from his people. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted, affectionate dog who will greet them with enthusiastic tail wags, plenty of kisses, and happily curl up after playtime.
Chico is currently being fostered in Staten Island, New York, and is ready to find his forever home. His adoption fee is $600.
Chico is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
