Meet Aria!
At just 2 years old and 9 pounds, Aria has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. She was part of a large-scale animal neglect case in Detroit, where she lived among more than 40 other Yorkies. While she never received the individual love and attention every dog deserves, her spirit remains gentle, resilient, and incredibly sweet.
Despite her past, Aria is a happy girl with so much love to give.
Aria truly enjoys attention and lights up when she's with her people. She is food and treat motivated, which will be a wonderful asset as she continues learning house manners and building confidence. She hasn't shown much interest in toys yet, but that's likely because she's never really had the opportunity to learn how to simply be a carefree dog.
She is good with other dogs and would especially benefit from a social, confident canine companion to help show her the ropes and reassure her as she adjusts to life in a loving home. She has displayed no issues with cats and would seemingly do well with dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a small breed.
Aria is seeking a family truly dedicated to giving her the structure, patience, and affection she has missed out on. Because of her previous living conditions, she has no experience with leash walks — realistically, no one was walking 40 dogs or ensuring consistent outdoor time. She will require a physically fenced yard to help prevent continued struggles with accidents and to safely build her confidence outside. She is working on crate training and will need consistency to promote good house manners.Aria will also require regular professional grooming, as is typical for the Yorkie breed. Most importantly, Aria needs a home committed to maintaining a predictable routine. Structure and consistency will help her feel safe and allow her to continue blossoming.
Aria is looking for a forever family who will cherish her, advocate for her, and ensure she never again goes without love or proper care. With patience, guidance, and a warm lap to curl up in, she will become an incredibly devoted companion. She's ready to leave her past behind and begin the beautiful life she has always deserved.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
