What we know: Came to CPR as a local Co surrender, pup was found as a stray 3 months ago and the finders were not able to find his owners after searching for months, finders were leaving the state and could no longer hold onto him so they surrendered. He was not fixed or vaccinated when he came into our care.
*Jack/Colonel is available to meet by appointment only. Please make sure you have an adoption application on file and email foster@coloradopuppy.org if you'd like to set up a meet and greet.*
From the foster: Jack is a 1-year-old mixed breed pup weighing just 6 pounds - a tiny guy with a big heart! This sweet little companion absolutely loves to cuddle and will happily curl up in your lap while you work. If you're looking for a devoted sidekick to keep you company throughout the day, Jack is your guy.
He enjoys playing with his toys and has a fun, playful side to balance out his snuggly nature. Jack is good on leash and already knows how to sit - he's a smart boy who enjoys learning and bonding with his person.
Jack would do best with a patient, experienced owner who can continue working with him. He does have some resource guarding with food and high-value treats, so ongoing positive reinforcement training will be important to help him build confidence and trust. He's eager to learn and will thrive with consistency and structure.
He's still working on potty training but does well when wearing belly bands, and with continued guidance, he's sure to keep improving.
Jack is looking for a calm, committed home that will give him the love, leadership, and continued training he needs to truly shine. In return, he'll give you endless cuddles, loyal companionship, and a warm little lap buddy every day.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Yorkshire Terrier, also known as Yorkie, is a small and glamorous toy dog breed known for its long, flowing coat and spirited personality. Originating from England, these affectionate and intelligent dogs make wonderful companions for individuals and families alike. With a weight of around 7 pounds, Yorkies are portable and adaptable, thriving in both city apartments and rural settings. Despite their small size, they possess a bold and confident nature, always ready for fun and adventure.
