Jean came to us from one our of partner rescues after being surrendered with her another dog. They were both scared and unsure of what was going on. It was clear that they needed an environment outside of the shelter that would allow them to decompress and start showing their true selfs.
Jean has been in her foster home alongside her foster parents and foster dog siblings. She has made herself at home and we are learning what her ideal household would look like.
So far we have learned the following about our little girl:
- She is doing well with potty training. She is currently going outside about every 4 hours at this time. She tries to give a cue to her foster family when she needs to go outside! With that being said in a new home she would be learning a new household, routine and environment so she will need patience.
- Leash training has been a work in progress. We have noticed that our little critter friends excite her and so she starts to pull and or pace. We are working on this but her forever home should be mindful that it is a work in progress.
- When meeting new people she is timid and nervous. She will do best when someone allows her to come up to them versus the other way around. We are unsure of what their life looked like prior to coming to the rescue but it's obvious they didn't have a lot of experience meeting new people. Once she realizes your her friend though? She is ready to give love and bond hard. She loves to cuddle and be close by to her human or other dogs.
- Since she is a bit more on the timid side and needs slow introductions we believe a home without kids or with kids over 10 years old would be best. We want to ensure that we set her up for success and listen to her comfort levels.
Jean's adoption fee includes her up to date vaccinations and prevention (fleas, ticks and heartworms), spay and microchip. She is also heartworm negative.
