Piper – 9 Months Old | 46 lbs | Spayed | Cat-Free Home Required
Piper is a smart, athletic 9-month-old dog weighing approximately 46 pounds. She is spayed, fully vetted, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.
Piper is being re-listed for adoption because she needs a cat-free home. This decision was made thoughtfully and with her best interests in mind so she can thrive in the right environment.
Piper is an energetic and intelligent young dog who enjoys learning and staying active. She knows many basic commands and is eager to engage with her people. She would do best with adopters who enjoy training, enrichment, and an active lifestyle.
She has been around both smaller and larger dogs. Piper may be timid at first but warms up quickly and enjoys playing once comfortable. She has done well in obedience class, puppy social hour, and doggie daycare. She has also been friendly and cooperative with veterinary staff.
Piper has experience around teenagers but has not been around young children yet.
She is house-trained and signals when she needs to go outside by whining and pacing. Piper is crate-trained at night and sleeps well when her crate is near her people. She enjoys playing fetch, chewing on bones, and interacting with toys such as treat balls. While she is affectionate and enjoys belly rubs, she is more playful than cuddly.
Piper is very athletic and a strong jumper, able to clear a 36-inch gate, so a secure home setup is important. She is still working on loose-leash walking. Piper does not tolerate nail trims at home and does best having them done by a professional groomer or veterinary staff.
Piper would likely thrive in an active home, ideally with another playful dog, and may enjoy dog sports such as agility or frisbee.
