Fostered in Georgetown

Meet Duchess! This lovely lady is an 8 year old, terrier mix, weighing 13 lbs. Duchess recently made the journey from Louisiana to Ontario in the hopes of a better life. Duchess is vetted, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.

True to her name, Duchess is gentle and charming in nature. She is friendly to everyone she meets, kids included. She is also an affectionate and loving lady, making her a wonderful companion or addition to any family.

Duchess is good with others dogs, and has settled in well with the two other dogs in her foster home. She does like to be the centre of attention, and loves to cuddle up close to her people and soak up all the love and attention.

Duchess would do best in a home where she has company throughout the day, regular outdoor breaks, and a fenced backyard. She isn’t overly vocal, so could be suited for apartment living too. She’ll need a family/companion/couple who understands she’ll need time to adjust as she is a flight risk, and will flee quickly out a door if left open.

Duchess is housetrained (as long as she has regular outdoor breaks as she won’t “ask” to go out), and walks relatively well on a leash. She’ll need a bit of fine tuning with leash training, and basic training, but she is food motivated and eager to please. She has bonded quickly with her foster family, and enjoys going for walks and car rides.

Duchess is a sweet and loving soul. Please consider welcoming her into your home and heart!
