King Gizzard is a 1-year-old terrier mix with the softest heart and the sweetest eyes—eyes that tell a story of a life that likely wasn’t very kind to him. When he first came into foster care, there was a noticeable sadness about him, as if he’s still learning what it means to feel safe and truly loved.

He is a gentle, calm, and shy little soul who startles easily, but once he feels safe, he simply wants affection. King Gizzard doesn’t ask for much—he thrives on being petted, held close, and cuddled. Quiet, loving moments are where he truly shines.

The outside world can feel overwhelming for him. Walks require patience, as he may stop, refuse to continue, or try to retreat if he hears unfamiliar or scary sounds. He is also still learning how to be a dog—he doesn’t yet know how to play with toys and is afraid of squeaky toys, which further suggests he may have missed out on normal puppy experiences early in life.

Cooked Chicken and soft treats are the quicker way to his heart and a great tool for building trust. His ideal home is a quiet, loving one with patient humans who will move at his pace and show him that his past is behind him.
