Ryan Ark - Weimaraner and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Friendswood, Texas

RYAN ARK

Weimaraner, Labrador Retriever
🇺🇸
Friendswood, Texas
September 5th
male, medium, baby

DESCRIPTION

Ryan Ark doesn't need much time to decide that new people might be pretty great—especially if they come bearing affection, playtime, or snacks. This handsome boy is playful, affectionate, social, and wonderfully food motivated, with an easygoing puppy personality that makes him pretty hard not to love.

Watch Ryan and his sister in action, then come back to read more!

At around 3 months old and approximately 20 lbs, Ryan is a Weimaraner/Labrador Retriever mix and the bigger of the Ark puppies, outweighing his little sister WrenLee by about 2.5 pounds. He's a beautiful fawn-colored boy with a soft, handsome face and the kind of puppy expression that makes you want to reach down and love on him immediately.

Thankfully, Ryan is perfectly happy with that arrangement.

While his sister WrenLee tends to take a moment to observe a new environment, Ryan is quicker to warm up. He's curious, friendly, and doesn't need much time before that playful, affectionate personality starts coming through.

Ryan has a nice medium energy level. He's absolutely a playful puppy and enjoys having fun with the other pups, but he isn't constantly bouncing off the walls. He and WrenLee love playing together and may get a little vocal when their puppy games really get going, but otherwise Ryan isn't an especially loud boy.

He's currently fostered in a busy canine household with his sister, two additional foster puppies, and a 100-lb resident dog, giving him some wonderful early exposure to dogs of very different sizes. The puppies spend time together in a playpen setup, where there's plenty of opportunity for playing and socializing.

And then there's Ryan's other great love:
Food.

This boy loves to eat!

Ryan is very food motivated, loves treats, and currently shares a large feeder with the other puppies without any observed resource guarding. That enthusiasm for snacks should also come in very handy when it's time to work on basic commands and puppy manners.

Ryan is already doing wonderfully with both crate time and car rides. He settles well in his crate, giving him a great foundation to continue building on as he grows. He's also comfortable riding in the car, which will make future outings and adventures that much easier.

Potty training is still very much a work in progress. Ryan and his sister have only been with their current foster for a few days, and they're currently learning with potty pads. His forever family should be prepared to start with the basics and continue establishing a consistent potty routine with patience and positive reinforcement.

At only three months old, Ryan isn't supposed to have everything figured out yet. What he does have is a wonderful starting point: he's affectionate, playful, dog socialized, food motivated, relatively quiet, and quick to make himself comfortable with new people.

He's still a baby who will need consistency, training, continued socialization, patience, and all the support that goes into raising a puppy into a wonderful adult dog.
In return, Ryan is prepared to bring the puppy play, the affection, and a very enthusiastic appreciation for whatever treats happen to be in your pocket.

Ryan Ark is a handsome, happy little boy who's ready to eat, play, cuddle, learn, and grow right alongside his forever family!
