This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Pierce, a 9-month-old Weimaraner / Lab mix, weighing 57 pounds (as of 2/25/26). This easygoing boy was found as a stray wandering the streets of Tennessee. Lucky for him, the New England posh life is just within his reach and he can't wait to meet his future fur-ever family!

Three simple words describe Pierce: "sweet," "loyal," and "calm." In fact, some would say he's the dog version of James Bond! He'll stay loyal to you to the end and will always be by your side. He'll also keep cool during dangerous missions, so you never have to worry about him going rogue!

In terms of Pierce's credentials, this boy's got an A+++ He’s crate trained, leash trained, and house trained, and does great with kids and other dogs. He has also been tested with cats and passed with flying colors! Go Pierce! Everyone's safe and secure with this boy around. He currently only knows "sit" as a command but would do well with a family that can help him learn more commands so he can rise to the top as a secret agent.

This boy is a gentle soul who'll calm the chaos of your frantic life. No really, in his spare time, Pierce teaches yoga so get ready to do some downward dogs to release all the tension in your body after fighting enemy spies! He would thrive in a home where the family was home more often than not.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
