Dee Dee - Treeing Walker Coonhound Dog for Adoption in Harrisonburg, Virginia

Meet Dee Dee! She has recently gone to foster. Here's what her foster has to say about her so far:

Dee Dee has been with us less than 24 hours and she has shown us a lot.

1. She does like to put her paws up on things to see what they are. That probably comes from being a former bear hunting dog. She is very curious. Counters are a fun space for her with all of the fun smells.

2. She really likes being outside, she would love a fenced in yard to hang out in. She frequently goes to the door to get taken outside.

3. She will go in the crate if you throw some treats in first and give her some treats after she goes in.

4. She definitely loves food and food smells. When we eat and when our other dog eats we crate her.

5. When she eats, we don't let our other dog near her. She eats in privacy since she resource guards her food with other dogs.

6. She gets along fine with other dogs, she is happy to just co-exist with them. She and our older hound are doing fine together.

7. Her first night here she crated well. We didn't hear a peep from her the whole night.

8. Outside she is super interested in all of the new smells.

9. So far she hasn't had any accidents in the house, but we take her out often.

10. She is super snuggly and really just the sweetest girl! She just wants to cuddle up when she isn't exploring.

She is currently just decompressing and getting used to all of the wonderful things about a home. We are so proud of how well she is doing. She is going to be a wonderful addition to someone's family!
