Meet Molecule, a resilient and charming one-year-old pup who is ready to turn the page on his past and start his forever adventure. Molecule came to the shelter in January, arriving emaciated and with a tail wound that required a bit of medical intervention. But after some much-needed rest and recovery in his foster home, his tail is back to its expressive, happy self, and his personality is really starting to shine.

Molecule is pure puppy in the best way: he is clever, food-motivated, and eager to please. Because he is so driven by treats, he is a dream to train and is already making great strides. Like any young, energetic dog, he's still learning his house manners (like keeping his paws off the counters when there are fries to be snagged) and he has a bit of "herding dog" playfulness that shows up as little nips, but he is incredibly easy to redirect. We are also in a great groove with his potty training; thanks to a consistent routine, he is officially accident-free! You might occasionally find yourself doing a quick "pajama walk" down the block with a mouthful of toothpaste to catch him before he squats, but he's picking up on the rules of the road quickly.

Daily life with Molecule is a treat. He is a connoisseur of enrichment, happily spending his morning breakfast time working through frozen toppls, snuffle mats, or his favorite red wobble toy. He has proven to be a rockstar in his crate, settling in quietly while his foster parent works, though he sometimes prefers to nap on top of the crate, just to keep things interesting. His favorite way to decompress is long, meandering walks through the neighborhood or Tower Grove Park with his human. He is nonreactive to just about everything except the occasional squirrel, and he shows a sweet, dog-curious interest in other pups he passes. After a day of enrichment, zoomies, and exploration, he is the perfect partner for evening snuggles.
