DESCRIPTION

Hello there! My name is CHISPITA and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Age: approx. 2.5 years
Gender: Female
Weight: 15 lbs (6.5 kg)
Height: 41 cm (paws to top of my head)
Length: 55 cm (head to butt)
Neck: 29 cm
Chest: 55 cm
Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY - My life started out a little rough—my sister and I were abandoned as puppies and left to fend for ourselves. Super scary for a wee pup like me! Thankfully, I was found just in time and I've been safe at the shelter ever since. I've been growing, learning, and waiting for a loving family of my very own!

TEMPERAMENT - Once I know you, I'm a total sweetheart. I love gentle pets, cuddles, and belly rubs—I'll happily soak up all the affection you want to give (check out this video)! I bond closely with my people and feel happiest when I'm near them.

I can be a little shy when I meet new people, so I might need some time and patience at first. I don't show signs of reactivity, just a sensitive girl learning to feel safe in new situations. I'm looking for an adopter who will go slow and let me come out of my shell at my own pace.

ENERGY LEVEL - Low to Medium - I have a nice, balanced energy level. I enjoy playing and exploring, but I'm just as happy curling up for some quiet time and snuggles. A calm, steady home where I can feel safe and build my confidence would be perfect for me.

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – Unknown - I don't have any documented experience around kiddos just yet.
Dogs – Yes, I interact with dogs of all sizes here at the shelter. Here is a video of me with other dogs.
Cats – Unknown - I haven't been tested with kitties.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – Work in progress. Watch this video of me walking on a leash. I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!
House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
