💛 Personality Snapshot
Describe in 3–5 words: Sensitive, gentle, observant, resilient, sweet
Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Moderate (with calm, cozy vibes indoors)
More people‑oriented or independent?: People-oriented once she feels safe
How do they handle new situations?: Initially shy and cautious. She takes a little time to decompress and observe, but once she feels secure, her affectionate and curious side starts to shine. She’s very thoughtful and aware of her surroundings.
🐕 Social & Home Life
How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)?: Very gentle with adults. With new people, she may be shy at first but warms up with patience and calm energy. She does best with slow introductions and a soft approach.
How are they with other dogs?: Submissive and respectful. She reads other dogs well and doesn’t try to dominate. She would likely do well with a calm, confident dog who can model security for her.
Cats or other animals (if known)?: Unknown, but her gentle demeanor suggests she could potentially do well with proper introductions.
Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: She prefers a quiet, predictable environment. She may retreat to her bed or a cozy corner when overwhelmed. She settles nicely once she understands she’s safe.
🎓 Training & Manners
Potty trained?: Yes
Crate trained?: Not fully crate trained yet, but she seeks out cozy, den-like spaces on her own. A crate may actually help her feel secure.
Leash skills: Walks gently but can be timid in loud or high-traffic areas. She does best in calmer neighborhoods and benefits from patient reassurance.
Commands known (if any): Still learning — she’s attentive and eager to please, so she will likely pick up training quickly with positive reinforcement.
🌞 Daily Life
Typical day with you: She enjoys slow mornings, short walks, lots of observing, and long cozy naps. She loves being near her person once she feels safe — quietly keeping you company.
Exercise needs: Moderate. A few relaxed walks and some light playtime are perfect for her. She’s not high-energy or demanding.
Favorite activities or toys: Cozy beds, soft blankets, and simply being near her person. She’s more into comfort and connection.
🌱 Growth Areas
Anything they’re still working on?: Building confidence in new environments and around city noise.
What helps them succeed?: Routine, calm leadership, gentle voices, positive reinforcement, and giving her space to decompress. She blossoms when she doesn’t feel rushed.
🏡 Ideal Home
Only dog / With dog / Either: Either — but a calm, confident dog could help her continue building confidence.
Good fit for apartment living?: Yes, especially in a quieter setting.
Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): Calm to moderate. She thrives in peaceful, emotionally steady homes.
What kind of adopter would be the best match?: Someone patient, nurturing, and emotionally attuned. A person who understands that trust is earned and finds beauty in watching a shy dog slowly open up.
💙 Foster Note
What I love most about Kerri (Pacha) is her softness. She is brave and gentle at the same time — a quiet little warrior. You can tell she’s been through change, yet she still chooses trust. When she looks at you with those observant eyes, you feel like she’s really taking you in.
She has the sweetest habit of finding cozy spots and watching the room before fully relaxing. Once she feels safe, she melts. She’s the kind of dog who will bond deeply with her person and become a loyal, calming presence in their life.
She isn’t loud about her love — but it’s there, steady and sincere.
**Kerri previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before she left Texas**
