Café is an 11-month-old, 8-lb Chihuahua mix and still very much a puppy at heart. Though he may be shy and a bit shaky for the first couple of days, once he feels safe, he blossoms into the cuddliest lap pup you'll ever meet. If you squat down to pet him, be prepared, he'll climb right up and insist you create a lap for him!
He loves zoomies, chewing, tossing tiny balls for himself, and chasing after them with pure joy. While the outdoors can feel big and a little scary right now, he's done well on short walks and may grow more confident with time and patience.
A confident resident dog is required for Café, as he truly thrives with a canine companion and gains confidence from them. He has also done well living with cats but does not have experience with children.
Café is crate-trained and does very well crated for long periods. He primarily uses puppy pads but is still working on full house training.
Café will be happiest in a loving home with another small, confident dog, plenty of floor space for zoomies, and humans who are ready for lots of snuggles. Once he opens up, he is truly a total treat, a sweet, silly, affectionate little companion who just wants to be held and loved.

The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
