Princess ~~ Spayed Female, Terrier Mix, Tan/Carmel, 13 years old, 21lbs

Do you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior dog who desperately needs a new living situation? Her 85 year-old owner is no longer able to care for her due to escalating medical issues.

Her daughter, who works at Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, is looking for a loving, permanent foster home where Princess can live out her golden retirement years. Her needs are simple ~~ she just wants to love someone and be loved in return.
Princess has been with her current owner for most of her adult life (9 years) and has some medical issues of her own.

Princess takes several daily medications and will need to remain on them for the remainder of her life. Ideally, her new owner will either be retired or work from home, as Princess does not care to be left alone.

Princess will be able to go to Crabapple Knoll for all her medical needs, medication and regular eye pressure checks at absolutely NO COST TO THE FOSTER. ALL of her medical and veterinary expenses will be covered in full.

Princess is a lap dog, has a sweet and gentle disposition, and loves having all of the attention to herself!! She will need to be the only pet in the home. She is up to date on all vaccines and vet services.

LIKES: Princess enjoys going for daily walks, receiving lots of love and attention, chew toys, sleeping with her owner in bed, and requests to have green beans with each meal. Princess also requests some comfy beds, fun toys to play with, and her very own fenced in area to run around and play in. Daily walks are also a must to keep her happy and healthy. This little lady absolutely loves her bathtime and will need a haircut every now and again. Princess is good in the car and will enjoy accompanying you on your errands. In return, she will give you all her love and promises to be the best and most attentive companion you could ask for.

DISLIKES: Other dogs, small children, treats besides green beans (they give her an upset stomach), a loud environment, and being put in a crate. She cannot be left alone for long periods of time because she generally goes to the bathroom every four hours.

COMES TO HER NEW HOME WITH: Lots of toys, dog bed, stairs to get up in bed with her owner, medications.

CURRENT MEDICATIONS AND HEALTH ISSUES:

• ENLARGED HEART: Medications: (1) Vetmedin twice daily, (2) Lasix twice daily. She sometimes coughs due to this condition.

• EYE ISSUES (BOTH EYES):
• Right eye is prosthetic. Needs eye lubricant drops twice daily.
• Left eye has Glaucoma. Needs Dorsolamide eye drops three times daily. Eye lubricant three times daily.
• Needs eye pressures checked at Crabapple Knoll once monthly.

• ALLERGY SYMPTOMS: Apoquel once per day with breakfast.
