Name:Sir Mason Date of Birth: 10/4/2012 Gender: Male Breed: Terrier/poodle mix Weight: 15 lbs Dog Friendly: Yes - with dogs same size or smaller Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes - probably older, considerate kids House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Unknown Energy Level: low History: Local Impound Adoption Fee: $200.00 *This animal is a part of our "Seniors for Seniors" program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Mason is a.sweet boy with some quirks. He is mostly dog friendly with same sized or smaller dogs, I haven't introduced him to any larger than him, except our Cheagle, and he seems fine with her as long as she isn't being annoying by getting in his face or space. He does hop and bark when he needs to go outside or wants attention. He does this when we come home. When he is excited he growls...which is a little off-putting until you know he isn't being aggressive. Basically when we arrive home he jumps and barks until we go to pet him and then he will growl and play nip, but never aggressively. He has only shown "aggression" towards our cat, and our resident alpha female...and she usually starts it. And when I say aggression I mean snarls and barks and movement to give chase. We always say no and redirect and he does fine after that. Never has bitten or actually brawled with either. He took a minute to warm up to our 16 year old, but is doing better with him... allows him to pet and take him potty. He is not crate trained as far as we know. We don't keep our animals in crates. He usually cuddles with one of us at night, or sleeps on a dog bed during the day. Mostly just a quirky guy who is trying to get used to a new routine. Fast movement and loud noises freak him out a little and he makes a great door bell...barks for Jesus when he hears noises and/or knocks. Fun at bedtime for sure, as we have split level, so everything upstairs gets a reaction from him downstairs at bedtime. I am working with him, giving him gentle pets and soft "Mason No, it's OK." For the most part though, he is a sweetie. My hubby has really taken to him the way he hasn't with prior fosters...even jokes about trading in the Cheagle for him...And he will make the right person/family a great pet!
