Terrier and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption

Meet Rubble, a 12.5 pound Chihuahua Terrier mix with a soft coat and an even softer heart. At about 2 years old, this little guy is still learning that people can be kind, but beneath his cautious first impression is a gentle, sweet dog who very much wants to trust.

Rubble has only been with rescue a short time, and he has already made progress. He was extremely scared when he first arrived, but he now comes up for pets, allows himself to be held, and is beginning to show the tender, loving nature that has been there all along.

Rubble seems to be the kind of dog who will truly bloom once he has a person of his own. He gets nervous when someone reaches to pick him up, so he will need an adopter who understands that patience, quiet reassurance, and a gentle touch will go a long way.

He has done well with other dogs in playgroup and has shown no signs of aggression. Because he is shy and tenderhearted, we think he would do best in a home with older children, or in a calm adult home where he can settle in at his own pace.

If you have a soft spot for the dogs who need a little extra understanding, Rubble may be the one for you. He does not seem like a long project at all. He seems like the kind of dog who, once he realizes he is safe and loved, will come around beautifully and become a devoted little companion.

Rubble is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Dublin, OH on April 25th. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost.

Rubble is Heartworm + but will be treated.
Rubble is Chagas negative.
